The Theta Kappa chapter of Alpha Xi Delta believes that no act of kindness is ever too small so through events throughout the semester, our sisters raise money for the very special foundation-Austin Speaks.
Autism is a developmental disease that affects a person’s social and communication skills. More than 3.5 million Americans live with Autism. In the United States, 1 out of 68 children have ASD (Autism spectrum disorder).
During the Spring 2017 semester, there will be a variety of events held on and off campus in efforts to raise money for our philanthropy. We will be hosting the semester annual, Karaoke for a Cure off campus in March. Our sisters will be hosting penny drives and bake sales on campus on multiple occasions.
This semester, we are hoping to incorporate a few new events that we would like to make annual. First, we have “Football Frenxi” which includes coed teams competing in a flag football tournament. Second, we have “Blue Bowl-a-thon” in April which is Autism Awareness month. All events’ proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks.
